Before your consultation
Please bring the following to your consultation:
- Your doctor's referral letter.
- All your imaging (x-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans etc).
- Your Medicare card.
- Your private insurance card.
You are welcome to bring a family member or friend along to the consultation.
Your consultation will either be at the Wesley Medical Centre, Holy Spirit Northside Hospital or North West Ramsay Place.

During your consultation
At your consultation you will meet your surgeon. Your surgeon will discuss your condition with you and review your relevant imaging.
Depending on your surgical condition, your surgeon may perform an ultrasound or minor procedure such as a biopsy at this consultation. Alternatively, this (or other tests) will be arranged to be performed elsewhere. If you require Thyroid or Parathyroid surgery your surgeon will perform and examination of the larynx (voice box) using a laryngoscope.
After your consultation
Where surgery is recommended, this will be booked after your consultation. Our staff will explain the admission procedures to you when you are making the surgical booking.

Some patients will require follow-up with their surgeon and others will be referred back to their GP. You will be advised during your consultation if either applies to you.
Follow up bookings with your surgeon can be made with our staff, bookings with your GP should be made directly with them.
